It’s less than a month away to Chinese New Year (CNY). Have you made plans for your reunion dinner? Amara Hotel has all their CNY dining schedule all planned out. Let me tell you more in details in this blogpost as I’m honored to be invited to attend this media tasting.

Firstly, Let’s welcome the upcoming Year of Dog by tossing this Salmon Yu Sheng (Lou Hei). Beautifully arranged in the shape of a cute dog, it’s definitely fun tossing this eye-catching doggie! The portion so big it’s definitely enough to go round. Indulge in CNY dishes executed by Executive Chef Charles Goh, there’s bound to be one you love. If you prefer something more posh with private dining experience, you may choose the Imperial Fortune Reunion menu which feeds 10pax at $1888.00. Highlights of this menu comprising of Sea Urchin, Black Ginseng Chicken Soup, Cod Fish and Pomelo Tang Yuen (Glutinous dumplings) sprinkled with edible gold leaves. Each room is fully equipped with Family Karaoke system too.

I tried out some dishes from the buffet line and my favourite ones were the Homemade Mandarin Orange Salmon, Drunken Chicken, Chilled Angelhair Pasta with Truffle Oil plus Kombu and also the Roasted Chicken with Spicy Sichuan Sauce (Whole).

I love how this salmon appetizer was prepared, with citrusy touch and sweet aftermath. 
Drunken chicken was tender and had very mild chinese wine aftertaste. The greenie mashed ginger garlic sauce drizzled on top gave the extra oomph!

Ohhh.. You wouldn’t want to miss this pasta dish. Al dente angel hair pasta infused with lotsa truffle oil. Every bite was bonus.

The smokey taste on the roasted chicken was unforgettable. Spicy Sichuan sauce was not distinctive but the chicken was good on its own.

There were many more on the buffet list such as Homemade Beetroot Salmon, Cucumber with Sesame Dressing, Vegetarian Treasure Pot, Smoked Duck with Camphor and Tea Leaves (Whole), Beef Bourguignon, Black Pepper Crayfish, Pomelo Tang Yuen etc. Not forgetting to mention the popular Chempedak series of desserts by Amara which consists of Chempedak Pudding, Chempedak Creme Brûlée, Chempedak Cake, Chempedak Agar Agar, Chempedak Swiss Rolls and Chempedak Butter Cake.

Among all the Chempedak desserts, I love the Chempedak cake the most. The texture was so fluffy, not overly sweetened while maintaining the right amount of Chempedak taste. So yummy and I forgotten to take a picture of it.
